1986 2.3l to 5.0

1986 2.3l to 5.0
5.0 carb engine, before i wired the key in it ran great, not that the key is hooked up it will not run after cranking, i know i dont have power to the key, but i do not know what wire to hook up and where to hook it, any ideas?
