95 mustang/cougar swap
I bought a 1995 Mustang (originally and 3.8) with a blown engine and bought a 1995 Mercury Cougar XR7 with a 4.6 Romeo as a donor car. We've pulled the computer wire harness, just about everything! We dropped the engine in last night and realized the the stock (mercury) exhaust headers are in the way of the (mustang) steering arm.... Would the 4.6 headers from the 96 mustang turn enough to allow room for the steering arm? If anyone has a 4.6 that could help or a mod suggestion please reply! Thanks!

Also I bought the 4.6 Mustang engine mounts (they fit on the engine), but the mounts will not sit inside the frames bolt holes... Is there a special "saddle" (?) that is needed or maybe they gave me the wrong mounts... Just feeling like I took on more than I handle....

I believe the k frame is different between the V6- V8. That is why the engine mount is in a different location.and the steering arm is in the way. Hopefully one of the V6 members will give better/ more info. good luck with your project.
