Default 4.6L swap to T5 trans?

I am curious to know if the 4.6 offered in the 04-10 mustang can bolt up to the T5 manual trans of a 4.0L V6? I should have gone with the V8 off the hop but didn't. However, I love the look of my ride and and paid to much to give it up now so i want to up the ol HP! I realize the rear end will be an issue but i am willing to drive it until its inevitable demise. Advice, other than swapping the entire car for a V8 model are welcome, hahaha.

Thanks in advance,

B

To be more precise, the bellhousing is a different bolt pattern, and smaller, on a trans from a 4.0L. If you're considering a 4.6 swap, do it right and get a 3650 or 6060.

I did a little digging around, and Im not sure but it looks like jegs sells a 4.6l bell that will bolt on to a t5. Its pricey though, and Im not sure if you could get away with the same clutch plate or not. You should give them a call and verify the information, but from what I see in the listing is the bell with bolt up to a Ford TKO 500-600, T5 Mustang, TR3550 allowing the t5 to mate with the 4.6l.

@Dawson1112,

I gave jegs a call and the rep I spoke with said you can use this bellhousing for the swap but he didn't seem to have an answer for the clutch plate issue. Will have to explore into this issue a bit more.

Default 4.6L

Also does anyone know of a good place to source a used 4.6L? I have found a few online but would like to see what other options there are.
