Default Fuel injected 5.0 in a 1977 cobra?

Hey guys ,
So I have found this 1977 mustang 2 cobra body and transmission and was wondering what it would take to drop a 5.0 fuel injected into it? Obviously anything Is possible with money and fabrication, but how close would this be to being a direct bolt on? If it's possible, I'll get the body and start looking for a decent motor to rebuild. Obviously I'd have to find / fabricate spots for the wiring harness and computer.

The engine it's self is a direct bolt in. I would recomend locating the PCM in the cabin under the dash. It shouldn't be that difficult.

Yeah I know that lol I was thinking because of the old school design I may have to fiberglass a center console for all the extra stuff to fit that the car was not originally designed for

Sounds like you already have a plan. Should be a cool project. Ever thing of just using a carburetor? A 302 with a 600 carb, good heads, intake and cam will make a ton of power and you wont have to deal with the wires. Just a thought. I went carb on my 363.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 76 Cobra and a 93 T-Bird with 302HO and AOD. I'm planning on pulling the 302EFI/AOD out of the Bird and putting it directly into the 76 (with whatever fab might be needed). I'm not to worried about it only being 200hp, the car is for my son. I'll swap th 8" ring and pinion for a 3.55 traction-loc to play better with the AOD than the 3.00 that is currently in the car.

Yeah I have a plan & that is fuel injected. Reason being: I eventually want to supercharge and it'll be much easier to tune it because I have never messed with a carb before, I know much more about fuel injection. I want to reach 500 whp. Which is realistic I think, it's definitely going to be long term.
