Default 1990 5.0 to a 351W EFI (from a 1996 F-250)

So title says it, I'm wanting to run a 351W EFI in my 90 Hatch.

Now I know there is alot of information on this build already so I pretty much know all I need to make this work from a swap perspective (oil pan, compatible headers ect..) but my question is in regards to Heads and Cam. I'm looking to do a very mild build/very street-able (dont want to stroke it) but something better than the GT40 heads (I've been told that if you spend the money to redo them you might as well just get a decent set of heads)

I dont trust myself picking out a head/cam combo which is why I would love to get a top end kit for a 5.0 but then I wont use the lower intake manifold since it wont work on the 5.8...

I'm looking for suggestions on a head/cam combo (I think I got the intake and exhaust figured out)..

Thanks

First, I wouldn't bother with EFI. It's expensive, and it makes your car slow unless you plan to boost it, I'd say dump it.

In regards to heads/cam, what do you mean mild? Lopey idle or not? What kind of power are you wanting out of it?

As far as head options, either Trick Flow, or AFR. Then, depending on the rest of your build, you can pick a cam. If you're kind of freaked about it, you can call up Crane cams, talk to their tech staff, and they can help you pick the appropriate cam as it can get fairly complicated.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, Carb probably would be cheaper and better but I really want to keep it EFI for personal reasons.

When I say mild I'm shooting for somewhere around 300-330 HP, with decent exhaust and intake (including injectors/MAF) supporting some "mild" head/cam combo I think that should be easily obtainable. I would like to have a little lope but not too aggressive.

So sounds like I should find some decent heads then just call up Crane cams and let them do all the hard work!
