Ok hope i put this in right section. I have a 1969 mustang with a 302 in it atm. A guy at work is going to sell me a boss 351c for pretty cheap but it needs a complete rebuild. I have been looking up info all day but Is there any major difference in a Boss 351 and a regular 351c? Such as do i need boss specific cam crankshaft pushrods pistons etc or will regular 351c parts do?

I'm sure all the parts in the Boss were more heavy duty than regular 351.

Well picked up engine and looked up code which was D2AE-CA on block which according to research it was cast in 72 so its not a boss 351 and heads was like D3AE which would be 73. Still pretty excited cause got engine for only $200 but evidence says its not a boss

Still a very solid motor with 4 bolt mains.

With those heads you can run unleaded gas in it and not have to worry.

Sadly it is 2 bolt mains

351C have a tendency to eat cams so I'd strongly suggest to go with roller cam and tappets.
Machinists in the days used to drill holes in the block's valley for more lubrication to help with that issue...
Keep in mind also that it's a heavy block so I would put heavy duty springs on the front end.
