Default 2000 Mustang Motor Swap Possibilities

I have recently acquired a 2000 Mustang with a motor that is no good. I am looking for motor replacement possibilities that will be worth the time and money.

Mark VIII 4.6 4v. I've done it in my 96 GT convertible. You'll love the extra horses. Plan on FI for mine down the road...

^Yep^

I snagged a nice runner out of a '98 Mark VIII for my 02 convertible and plan on leaving it bone stock but still, it's a damned nice upgrade.

I have a 99 v6 5 speed and would love to swap in an old school 289 with a 600 cfm carb, I had that in my '66 coupe. I love the 99 but hate all the computer stuff, too many sensors for me !!

the big questions!!!!!!!!!!!!

how much money you wanna spend?

how much work you want to do on car? will this be a performance or just go to work car?

do you even want a 4.6????? you could get a 383 stroker for the price of a dohc swap with electronics.
the only reason my mustang is still a 4.6 based motor is I have drove this thing for 12 years, I did a lot of stupid things in my younger years and it always got me out of trouble or kept me away from it. so just trying to keep her together best I can =) other wise omfg I'd have a big block in it.
