4.0 To 5.4 (4v) Navi Swap
Hello Everyone,
I'm really hoping to get some answers as to what I will need to make the 5.4 Navi swap happen in my 06 4.0 mustang. I am really only looking for info on what I will need to get the engine running properly, and keep all stock electrical components working normally.
I plan on eventually supercharging the engine after I have it in my car, so I am wondering if a stock Navi motor will be able to support that.. and if not, what changes I will need to make in order to make it possible.
A few things I am questioning:
1)What intake/throttle body should I use?
2)What wiring harness/PCM would I need to use, and will this involve totally stripping out my interior?
3)Would I use coils/packs, radiator/hoses, and engine sensors from a GT500?
From what I've gathered, (thanks to others!) is that I will need to use all GT (maybe GT500?) components that match the model year of the harness I use. This includes alternator, power steering, a/c, coolant housing, etc. It looks like the exceptions are needing GT500 fuel rails, 47# injectors and 4.6 Cobra headers/gaskets and H-pipe.
I'm sure I am missing a few things, or that I've screwed up some of my "facts," I appreciate any help I can get! I plan on posting a nice swap thread when the time finally comes, so please help out if you have the knowledge! Thanks!!!
