Want to swap 65 rear end with 73 comet

I am looking on swapping a L6 to 302 in my 65 mustang. Will the read end of a 73 comet work? I will upgrade to disc breaks. The comet has the engine and the tranny so I cant get it as a set.

The rear end is just slightly narrower than the one for the 65.
You should be fine using it.

I plan on installing an 8-inch from a V8 Maverick (same as Comet) in my 65.
