RE: Mustang II Member Rides - Submit Your Pics!!!!
thanks
there's a whole list of things me and my pops have done to it.
on the original motor (5.0) and trans(3 speed), the fly wheel had 5 out of the 6 wealds holding the ring gear to the plate itsself busted off, so we were lucky if we ever got it started.
-took the tranny off, took the flywheel off, fixed it put all backtogether.
when we go to start it, the only thing that happened was the starter engaging,... long story short, my motor ceased up.
so we went to this one junk yard and pulled out a 5.0 and a AOD out of a linclon MkVII. it basically fit right into my car. alls we needed to do was modify the duble hump trans cross member to fit the bigger tranny, and shorttened the drive shaft an ... inch... i believe.
but before we changed that stuff, we put on an 85 style serpentine system.
when we dropped everything in and put it all back together, it worked better each time i drove it.(well its my car).
but with the new tranny, my park was now 1st gear. so thats one of the reasons we switched shifters. we took it to a tranny shop so the could adjust the pressure on it, cause it was shifting REALLY funky ...1-3 back to 2 then somewhere inbetween... but yeah, we had them put it in while they was working on it.
i dont know what order, but we replaced:
starter
battery
scilinoid
alternator 140amp.- to run my dual electric fans.
carb- just a stock replacement
shifter
coil
fuse for the horn... lol
side view mirrors- just because
belt system
what is still stock is:
exhaust
intake
radiator... just took that to a shop so they could fix some leaks
... pretty much anything else not mentioned.
thats bout all.
got this sucker in september of 06 and has been running good since mid 07
right now... im just outta gas.lol.

Here's my II - '74 Ghia V6 automatic. Totally stock and been sitting for 13-14 years. In amazingly good mechanical condition.
Not currently running due to a plugged fuel line (I hope).
I'm hoping to find a 74 fastback V6 4-speed
