Default 76 resto coupe

like the title says i have a 1976 II coupe with a 2.8L i blew the engine almost two years ago and its just been sitting along side the garage and i refuse to see it turn into a heap of rust like alot of classics do because this was my first car i bought it for $500 off of ebay and put about $2000 into her to get her up to par. it had a four speed tranny and it was red wit red interior interior is in pretty good shape. my question is im gonna replace the engine but im not gonna make it too wild just something for the weekends and nice days. what engine and tranny would bolt up the easiest and give me good performance. and if anybody wants to sell me some parts that would be nice cause parts are hard to come by. also how hard is it to replace a quarter panel when it was running some a$$hole backed up into me and fled the scene like a coward. ill post pics tommorrow thanks guys

Default RE: 76 resto coupe

sounds like an awesome project, I have had a few MII's, and look forward to getting another. As for what motor tranny combo, I would go with a 302 t5, as it is easy, ALMOST bolts right in, and is cheap to do. let me know, I can give you some pointers on what to do......
