Thanks for the props!

Do you know of anyone on these forums who may have a II done up nice which happens to be really quick? You rarely see the 74-78 Mustang done up as a quality straight line bruiser. I've see a few II's which fit the description around the net, but never in person.

The real bummer of my motor is that it has the potential of putting another 100-150RWHP down as it sits, but the one thing holding me back is the block []. So, to PREVENT the motor from making TOO much HP, we tuned it on the rich side (11:1 AFR), pulled A LOT of timing (21 degrees total advance), and set the redline to 6000rpm.

If we gave it more timing, leaned it out, and set the red line where ever it stopped making HP, then it would EASILY make another 100-150RWHP !!!!! Dang! With out a doubt, I will be looking for a new block, either a Dart, or possibly one of the new Boss Block from Ford Racing.

One thing to keep in mind, it is making more HP than the block can handle on only 7lbs of boost. A real testament to the combination of parts.

I used to have a '77 Mustang II hatchback and a '76 Cobra II.

Both were stock. 302 - automatics

I don't see IIs around anymore.

I click the little camera icon on the left and it brings me to a page that "should" have pics, but they are all little boxes with "X"s through them? Anyone know how to correct this so I can check out the pics of your II?[:@]

Due to the lack of replies, I suppose there are either very few unique II's done up really nice and quick, or this site just doesn't get a lot of traffic, or even a combination of both.

I think it is a bit of both.

Not much love for the II around here.

I kinda miss mine though.

I pop in here once in a while to help keep things going.

I absolutely love my 78 II, unfortunately my pockets aren't deep enough to get in the same class as you. I do, however feel pretty good about my little hotrod. Rebuilt 302, probably churning out about 320hp, pretty decent cam. She's pretty dog gone quick. All things considered, I get a lot WOW's when I fire her up and even stranger looks when I launch. She gets a lot of attention, some of which isn't so good....ie. local PD - LOL! She started outlife as a pitiful 4 banger. She isn't perfect but she's still a work in progress. I have a lot of future plans, a little at a time. I'll get up there with the big boys eventually. Rear wheel seal crapped out on me a few weeks ago, so she's sitting on stands for the time being....can't find the time to fix it right now. Toying with the idea of just replacing the entire rear end with a 9", don't know if I'm ready to bite that off right now. I may just fix the seals and make that my winter project. Don't give up on this site, it gets slow from time to time but we're always lurking in the shadows.

Unfortuanatley I cannot see your pics either[:@]

I've had my II since 1989 and it's seen more changes over the years (decades) than I have fingers + toes.....

Here is another link to a site with many more pics plus a description of the parts :
