Hey everyone im looking so some help here, i aquired this mustang as a gift from my grandfather and he aquried it from a friend who has passed away. Now he is unsure of the year and so am I. It says it is manufactured in 1976 but from what ive been reading the first number of the VIN is the year it, and that number happens to be 7. There are pictures of both the VIN and the info on the inside of the door.

Also, there is an insignia located on both sides of the car that i have not the slightest idea of what it means, so any help there would also be great.

From what I can tell you have answered your own question of the model year. I see it as a 1977.
