Default EDR

Can anyone tell me about the Event Data Rercoder in the Mustang??
How it works and if the Dealer can tell from it if I been bad.

From what I saw on the news (if you can believe it) it records speed, whether the brakes were applied, air bag deployed, etc etc...

Supposedly it keeps the last 5 minutes of data after a crash (I am assuming when the engine stops running).

If you crash, and can keep the engine running for 5 minutes safety (no pools of gasoline) you may be able to "erase" your incriminating data.

That may also be BS, but it's worth a shot.
