I always find these discussions interesting, as the topic spins wildly out of control.

First, what a ridiculous comparison. ABullitt Mustang against a 5 passenger family sedan, which isn't even the top performanceversion in that model.What's the point?

The Charger R/T is a moderately priced family car/ sport sedan. It was never designed or intended to be a "performance based" model. If you wantserious performance, you buy the SRT8 Charger, which as we all know will beat a stock GT.

All I'll add is that 14 flat for a moderately priced family car is nothing to be ashamed of. Beats the heck out of driving 17 second SUV or minivan.My new company car is a Magnum R/T, and my wife drives a Magnum SRT8. Both are really nice cars, but to compare them to a Mustang is apples and oranges.

True, my R/T is not as fast as my GT was stock. However, that isn't what it was designed for. Just like my GT was not designed to carry my family in room and comfort.

I do point out that the car WAS actually aimed at performance and advertised as such... It's just in a different weight class than the mustang is all. 5 Passenger or not, it's a pretty nice car. My mother drives a Chrysler 300c w/ the hemi lmao. I know it's not as fast as some of the other cars out there but again as stated, being a 5 passenger car and hauling @$$ like that, it's a pretty nice family car w/ *****. Sure beats the space of a mustang...

Buuuttttt I still think the Mustangs body is the sexiest of 'em all out there

There is one of those Grand Cherokee's down here but this one has a a vortech on it and you just can not believe how fast it is, blew a Z06 on the track a few months ago.

Lets not confuse people who may now worry the new challenger will be too fast. As with today's cars like the chrysler 300 and dodge charger, it will be VERY rare to see an SRT-8 on the street. You will see the regular V8 version and even more the V6 version before you'll ever see the SRT-8. It will be as common as seeing a GT500, which is not common....
