Well the cost depends on which model your tlakin about.... The 6 should prolly start at about the same that it is now maybea little higher, but around 17 18k.... But you have to think of all the new redesigning Ford has done. And not too mention expensive.. Theyll come out with the SVT later on prolly into 05` but the V8 and the racier V8 they will have will run ya about 30 - 35k... The car is lighter, more responsive, smoother ride, and more solid than before... Theyve even made more room for that back seat... And also got rid of the FOX Platform they swore by, and switched to DEW.. just like Thunderbirds and Jags.. Your going to have the choice of a fully independant rear suspension, high end variants, and for the 6 bangers they are staying with the solid rear axle.....

But with all of this in consideration Fords pricing will be higher.... And the public will pay whatever they ask why? because wheres the competition now days??? Not everyone wants a vette...... I mean the 8's are even coming with a 6 speed tranny finally!!!!! and convertables a 5 spd auto.......

Ford is coming back man better than ever if you ask me.... Smarter every generation...... You better believe Ill have one in my garage.....

Now for that SVT not sure on the pricing on that baby, but Im thinkin a good 38-42k.... Give or take a little....

they are doing good based on these rumors, but part of what was keeping em cheap is being replaced, the 5 speed trannies, old school fox chassis, stuff like that is what was keeping the costs down. if those are gone whoknows what'll happen?

I agree But isnt there going to be the Gt Deluxe the V-10? this is the New... Mach One/cobra? the Gt standard is going tohave the Mach one engine. I Belong to the Buegrass Pony Club and we get so much conflict about all ofthis but this is true the the new V-6 is there stroked 3.8L out to 4.3L rumered to be super charged in the basic deluxe model.I would also Like to Point out your avator OWNED well we are want a rear wheel drive V-8 muscle car you have 3 choices mustang mustang mustang i cant afford a GT40.

[/QUOTE]

I doubt they are really going to produce a v-10 mustang. Yes they have tried it but I really do not think ford is going to put a v-10 in its pony car. Although they do try many differnt combos with the stangs.

I downloaded the video of the Mustang intro at the Detroit show. The guy introducing it said both the V-6 and the V-8 will be starting at under 20k.

The Camaro didn't die off because it was expensive, infact the Z28 base priced at like $22,295 msrp. It was the most rediculously low priced piece of hardware out there. 346 cubic inchV8, 310 hp 340 ft lbs(01-02 models) Tremec T56 6 sp manual,4 wheeldisc brakes with ABS,and a 10 bolt solid axle with 3.42 gears for 22.2k? The Zmade the Mustang GT and WRX look like a joke in 02, but GM didn't market it worth s**t so no one knew about it until after it was discontinued.

And they died because they're unpractical. It's too uncomfortable for moms and daughters to drive (you know, the kind that drives an auto 6 cyc convert.). GM focused only on pure performance where as ford focus on appeal to a larger crowd.

In this day and age, you do whatever that gains you money, not whatever is traditional. It is dumb to keep your "pure porsche bloodlines" and watch as BMW and Benz take over the performance SUV spot, so they changed that.
