^Hmm that's a good point. I really restrictive stock tune for fuel efficiency would be a semi-decent way to get around those fuel mileage regulations.

Haha I can see it now... to skirt fuel emissions they detune the engine. Then the salesman will say "and for just another $5000 we can sell you a tuner that will give it 205 extra horsepower!"

God love Ford. Well besides skirting the gas regulation, they could also be looking at the fact that if it goes over 160 or 170 MPH (if I remember correctly)you have to have a roll cage to drag race it. This way they can sell it without having to do extra reinforment inside. Please insurance will be cheaper at 400 HP instead of 600HP....just my 2 cent.

it would be a smart thing to do tho.. i would push ford to do this if all it required was a good aftermarket tune think about it.. cheaper insurance, a simple way to meet the fuel regulations and still give u the potential with the car
