Hey does anyone know if there is any news on whatFord is planning to do to compete performance wise with the new Camaro? I mean 300 hp for the v6 Camaro when the GT Mustang has just over 300? Thats a little nuts no?

DL how many CIs are those engines? [8D]I assume the GT is like a 550 something? Haha

Nobody knows anything solid yet. All I can say is that, yes the Mustang is getting a power boost. The v6 in the camaro has less torque and the car weighs more, so it will not be "putting hurt" so to speak on s197 GT's. They won't be a walk in the park to beat, but the current v8 should be able to keep the camaro v6 in line.

OMG it's a 300 horsepower V-6 with less torque than a V-8, in a car that is alot heavier! Let's all tuck our tails between our legs and p*ss our pants! Good grief....

Where do people keep getting 400+ HP for the eco boost? I was so sure the number was 340 for the engine that is actually in production.

There is a "TwinForce" the makes 430 that was in the Lincoln MKR Concept. The 415 HP ecoboost is only an estimated power number and is so far only in the Ford Explorer America Concept and Lincoln MKT concept.

On the topic of ecoboost, what are other companies doing to boost their fleet gas mileage? GM just seems to be making a bunch of smaller I4 cars and Chrysler is doing, well nothing as far as I can tell...

From what I can tell... Chrystler is turning to China to make them tiny cars that barely pass safety and emmissions.

Saw a crash test of one of those... Evidently the chinese believe that space between the seat and the pedals is a nice place to put a crumple zone.
