Same Engine in 2010?
It seems that everywhere I look everyone is confirming the same engine choices in the 2010 Mustang as the 2005 Mustang had. Are you kidding me? I love Mustangs but if they can't upgrade them to a better engine with more horsepower then I'm gonna go straight to the Chevy dealership or BMW again.

Yes it looks like that is the case unfortunately. I'm expecting a modest bump in horsepower say 20 to 40 hp. ie '98 GT vs. '99 GT. Though there was alot of talk about a 5.0 being tested a few months back it does not seem that it will make its way into the GT. I'm hoping it will make its way into a special edition Mustang like a Boss 302.
I'm not surprised that Ford didn't give the GT a 400hp 5.0. That is a very hefty bump to do from one year to another and could upset '08-'09 owners who paid close to the same MSRP for 100 few ponies.

2012 is when Ford is slated to put new engines in the Mustang. 2010 is just a minor bodymod year to keep the Mustang insteresting for the New Camaro and Challenger being released.
2012 will be same body as 2010 but with new engine options.

$40,000 doesn't sounds like a good deal to me... the base msrp on a gt500 is what, $42,500?

I am not believing anything until Ford says it! Everyone that has engine info, who is not Ford, are simply stating their opinion! Do you guys really expect them to ditch the all aluminum 4.6 after just 5 years? Although the competition is rising, Ford doesnt need to bump the HP up 100 (thats just crazy). If you want a mustang with more power than your GT, THEY ALREADY MAKE ONE!
