By using the same motor in Lincoln and other Ford models like they plan to (F150, MKZ, and MKS (Whatever the ute is)), it won't be very expensive at all and should remain cost competitive with the V6 camaro and challenger.

cafe is just a revision to an old law, and its been blown WAY out of proportion with how it will impact the market.
Here is from a USA today article...

"The bill will require an automaker's fleet of cars, pickups, SUVs and vans to have an average fuel economy of 35 miles per gallon in 2020. The standards currently are an average 27.5 mpg for cars and 22.5 mpg for light trucks"

So it looks like not until 2020. Good news for v-8's. But I still say bring on the TT's!

Yes but those vehicles are priced way up market from a base V6. I'm telling that Ford is not going to sell a 340hp TT mustang for 22k. The bean counters will not allow it.

They will find a way. When Camaro is selling a 300hp V6 with direct inject for 22K and Challenger with 250 HP sells for 20K, ford needs to find a way or they will lose that market.

I read something like that, but that does not make sense. $700 for 70hp over a stock 3.7L? Sounds impossible, I'm thinking that there might be a TT 3.7L and ecoboost version which gets better mileage and you can through down 700 bucks for it.

Ya but if you are throwing a pair of hairdryers on a motor, that ups cost significantly compared to an N/A version. Which is why I see a 3.7L 270hp motor making alot of sense at 21k.

i think they should replace the current v6 with the turbo version, try to keep the price low,so they can compete with the 300hp v6 camaro thats coming out.even thoug itll be easy to get it to beat even the new gt...

I think they should TT the 6 cylinder version and keep it at that. Why make a N/A AND TT? Just put the TT version out there, price it less than the GT and people will buy it. Shoot, I'LL even buy it

Also, why don't they make a TT V8? Seems to me that they could do it pretty easily and it wouldn't ruin the engine. It would cost as much as the Camero, but think of the possibilities with a TT base V8!
