Here's what Ford SHOULD do:
Base: 4.0 V6
Mid: Eco-Boost....call it LX
Top: Still gotta be the GT, but with two options. 4.6 for the Mod crowd, and the new 5.0 for the retro guys (like me) I drove a 95 with the 5.0 and then took out a 97. the 4.6's are gutless. I'm sorry. I grew up wrenchin on the Five-Oh's and wouls LOVE to see them make a comeback in a new Stang.

1. 4.0L is a dinosaurs. The Duratec 37 would be the best bet for a base motor.

2. If they make a 5.0L, it will be a mod motor.

3. Not all 4.6L's are gutless, you just drove the worst, a non-PI 2v 4.6L .

....i guess im just old-school. a TTV6 in a Stang would be a novel idea.....hell my 3.8 struggles to get out of its own way. i'd swap in somethin like an EcoBoost in a heartbeat.
