I'm a fan of both, but for convenience and modern technology. I have to go with the 08. I actually plan on building, from scratch a 68 replica (not the KR, just a regular fastback) in the next 10-15 years. It's been a dream of mine.

Not much question that the '08 is a better car.

But the '68 was a bigger statement, and has the advantage of nostalgia going for it as well.

I wonder how this poll would turn out if it were to be taken again in 40, or even 20 years from now.

2008 for daily driver.

1968 for fun, I would be afraid to drive it in heavy traffic.

Put up a thread over in the Classic section that links back here. A lot of the Classic members don't stray very far from there.

There's a lot that I happen to like about the '68 - along with quite a few things that I don't want to have to deal with ever again. Points, carbs, flat-tappet cams, 1960's chassis & handling, compromise gearing no matter what (assuming that it's a DD as per "the rules" here), etc.

If it was just a weekender I would go with the '68 but since it is a daily driver I voted the '08.

To me I would notice an '08 over a '68...just because I'm young and I like the new. I would definitely notice the '68 but to me the '08 is sooo nice
