I'm expecting to see the 4.6 3V bumped up a little horsepower wise, maybe 325.
Maybe a hardtop vert though?

First off, either way the new Mustang will likely be a success. It always has had a strong fanbase compared to it's rivals (at least, I'm talking # of sales here). The pictures (if you can call them that) look good so far.

As for engine sizes, every new generation upped their HP levels a bit. I see the same happening. I seriously doubt a 400 hp Mustang GT is in the works. Basically, I consider this as a transition very much like the sn95 to new edge.

I see the following:

V6 Mustang 4.0- 225 HP

Mustang GT 4.6 3v- 325 HP

Mustang Mach 1/Bullit 4v- 375-385 HP

Mustang SVT Cobra/GT 500- 500 HP

Something we have to consider is the weight of these cars...it's not as much as the new camaro/challenger.

I'm thinking the 302 will be for next gen....or will be the engine for a 2011 mach 1/cobra.

I dont see much of an Engine upgrade personally. I think that will come in 2011... If they do too much to the engine/looks/interior and everything else then people that bought the 09 are gonna get really p*ssed. Especially since I heard the GT's price will only be going up $935.

I can't even imagine an upgrade then, at least for the mustang gt....

I'm almost thinking that they might hold the mach and gt500 until then and use the 5.0 engine for those cars...although that really leaves ford in the dust.
