Honestly, if the black plastic cladding was smoothed out, and painted matte black, or body color, and the front grill surround was smooth and body color, it'd be pretty darn awesome. I still don't care for the back end, but I could live with it. The plastic grill surround really kills it the most, though.

Does anyone know if this is the "set in stone" version? Because I know the first concept of the S197's they came out with vs. the real production we have now was slightly differ...i.e. there wasn't a glass roof and a full 20" spare tire in the hatch!..among others.

yes, unfortunately, it is set in stone. what you see is what you get.

I have no doubt that it will look pretty good with a lot of exterior mods, lowering springs, wheels, etc, but I bought my 07 because it looked good off the showroom floor. all of the mods that I added were just gravy. that's not the case with this thing. TDC71 hit the nail on the head; they turned muscle into metro.

The rear end just kills it for me.

Got to agree! I still like my 05 better. Even the interior speedometer looks cheap to this bubba and those square vents look like they came out of a 1978 crown vic, Blah!

i don't like the unpainted pannels, but other then that. i love it (and i'll love it more when the 5.0 comes nect year).

not sure whats up with all the haters... it's not that much different from the 05-09. i think to your average passer-by, they won't even be able to tell the difference between the two. which cracks me up cause all the s197 owners calling it "butt ugly" LOL

ATTENTION PLEASE! IT AIN'T THAT DIFFERENT...stupid.

My mother thinks every blue car she sees is me, so your point is mute. It is very different looking in the front and rear. The antenna on the rear is just stupid. They should have just removed the freaking atenna.

I do like the new color options. The kona blue looks nice, so does the gold and gray. I'm even digging the grabber blue.

yes, that rear antenna is the right height... but very cheap! I could turn it easily with my fingers. Hope they reconsider it.

Oh, and they had quite a few new wheel options on display:
