Default Class action suit against Ford?

Does anyone know of a class action suit on behalf of Mustang owners? My Mustang leaks in the rain and several other owners said theirs do also. The dealer can't fix it...says they all do that. So, if they all do that, is any group taking action?

+1 to Bruce! Its a known problem with some of the newer ones, but its an easy fix that they know how to do. Find a different dealer...

All,
I am guessing it is leaking past the door seals in the upper half of the door area, or maybe the mirrors (?), then it runs down the inside of the door seal to the bottom of the door and backs up to where it spills on the threshold.

Second guess, two leaks, one the door seal and two, leaking down the upholstery panel and landing on the thresshold.

The dealer is the best in my locale. I had it in 7 times no result. I must say, they did try to the best of their (limited) ability. As for the Ford rep...let's be clear...they call themselves "field engineers"...that is bull, they are "insurance adjusters" and their job is to DENY claims to save money.

The factory rep has seen the car twice. Says they all do that. they pulled a new Mustang out of the lot and hosed it down for 15 minutes and that one had similar...not necessarily the same... leaks. They will not "look at this problem again". I went to the lemon law thing without a lawyer...big mistake. They just brushed me off.

since their excuse is "they all do that"..even though I had pictures of a friends car that does not leak, I would like to find a class action suit to join. They deserve at least as much misery as they caused me.

did you have rain leaking onto the thresshold and staying there until on the following day in sunshine...you opened thedoor and let the water run out?

Or did you have one of the other problems like...water in the fuse box or in the carpets?

Do you know *what* they replaced and how they fixed it? PM me the name and number of your dealer who fixed it and Iwill call them and ask them how they fixed it.

All, if I *knew* where it was leaking from I would make t hem fix it. But, with most leaks..you can tell where the water ends up but not how it gets there.

actually, after some really bad rainstorms in FL (i think you guys call them "tropical storms"), i had a few drops of water on the seat, thats all. nothing like "water running out"

they replaced the weather stripping on the top (where the edge of the window rests when closed) and then re-indexed the windows

My dealer is Veteran's Ford, in the Tampa bay area, look them up

I think a class action lawsuit is the solution. My Saleen leaks so badly that my Dyson sucks water through the passenger side carpet when I try to vacuum it out.

It's nuts and I can't figure out where the leak is coming from.

It's absurd that you can buy a 20-30-40-50-60-70-80-$90,000 car (Depending on what model you buy, which is another conversation for another day) and have it leak like this.

What's worse is Ford knows about it but even the new cars leak the same.

And they wonder why they're in the Crapper right now. My Toyota Sequioa with 45000 miles on it (my Saleen is an 05 with 36k) doesn't leak a drop.

sounds like u have a sh*t dealer with a horrible service manager. they need to either sub the work out to water leak specialists, who know all the tricks, or but a tech with a brain on it. i can imagine they can't find where its leaking and either replace the defective part, re-seal or add a seal or drain hole to stop the water. its rediculous. try a different dealer.

edit: getting anything out of a class action is very unlikely in this case. its not a safety issue, and not enough stangs do it. ive been at a high volume dealer for about a year and havent had one. (just my opinion of course)

Another vote for calling the state atty gen. Its a warranty issue with a TSB - they need to fix it or replace the car. Guess I got lucky w/my 05 - living in FL, its seen a couple of hurricanes and no leaks. Luck of the draw - hope you get your issue squared away.

Try camping outside the dealership with some signage - "xxxx Dealership sells cars that leak and won't fix them."

Still never figured this whole "leaky interior" thing out. My car has never leaked any water into the interior from anywhere......even after blasting it with a high pressure hose at the local car wash. Hell, my car even weathered out a couple of tropical storms and Hurricane Rita without any dampness getting in. I don't understand why some leak and some don't.

Now imagine how infuriating it would be when they tell you that the leakage is normal...no one else complains about it....and the AG buys that argument.

i think what you describe as a "leak" might be normal. Water will settle under the door and then once opened its released and will "spill" out. Mine doesnt sit in the rain normally but after it gets washed it will do it.

How much water is there? Has any carpet gotten wet? If not then i dont think you actually have a problem. Give us pictures of what you are talking about....
