A DOHC motor for a mass production truck line????? Someone's smoking some good s**t........either the author of that thread or the beancounters at Ford (if that's true). This motor has already been photographed in the enginebay of a new Mustang. If anything, there's no place other than the Mustang that the 5.0 should be starting out in. But yea, as you said............lots of hearsay, speculation, rumor, and storytelling going on with this "Coyote" critter.
Yeah. I hope Ford helps clear up the mystery and speculation soon.

Iam happy to see Ford bring a 5.0 back to Mustang even if it is dohc. Wish they would go push rod though. I just hope they dont fall in the same boat as the 4.6 2v where you add full bolt ons and get 25-30. I understand it will have four valves but how maxed out will it come from the factory is my question?
For now they are keeping the 5.4. But I've read numerous times that they are looking to replace the 3V 5.4 truck motors with the new 6.2, and the GT500's 4V 5.4 with the new 5.0. We'll see.
There was an article on either Jalopnik or Autoblog within the last six months regarding Ford and a new V8. They had apparently Applied for a patent on a twin turbo (eco boost) V8. I could have sworn it was a 5.O.

Most likely the Bobcat engine. there have been a few recent articles on Autoblog. It is a twin turbo, bi-fuel engine. Uses ethanol to boost the octane rating to allow for high boost, gigantic torque, and good mileage. It is 5.0, and it can get up around 750 lb/ft of torque. Two fuels is strange though...I'd prefer a true ecoboost 5.0, but I am happy with 400 and 400 from a N/A 5.0 GT. It ought to have a great aftermarket too.
