Do your homework in this field before making such claims......
I dont think you grasp the scheme here buddy. I don't care what people can do. That says nothing. Its about what they actually do. What I am saying is look whats on the market next year. Dodge and Chevy will have 6+ litre engines making the same that Ford does with a 5 litre. That to me is impressive and I don't care if they could make a 5 litre with 800 hp they don't so it doesn't matter. I bet Toyota could probably build one with more than any of the American 3 or at least come close but they don't so I don't care.

So i don't give a rats ass what they could its about what they actually do. And Ford will actually make 400 hp out of a 5 litre and Chevy will do the same with a 6 or 6.2.

Ford is the healthiest of the Big 3, and doesn't owe the government billions of dollars like Dodge and GM(via the auto bailout.) Yes, they've been lacking in the moderate priced V8 area, but that's because they've been concentrating on surviving and being financial stable. While Dodge and GM are struggling to stay afloat(GM healthier than Dodge obviously) Ford is selling F150's and Mustangs like hot cakes.

Explorer. Crown Vic. 500/Taurus. Ranger. Windstar. Freestar. Those names mean anything to you??? They should, because for the last several years they've been nothing but heaps of FAIL. The F150 and V6 Mustang carry Ford. Besides their trucks, the Mustang and Fusion, everything they've been making for some time now has been mediocre at best. If you think the profit margins a car maker returns are a direct correspondence to how well of cars are, you're sadly mistaken. There are way, way more factors that it depends on than that. And a few years before the economy took a dump, it was Ford who was in dire straights. So yeah, it's about damn time they get their act together.....

Well, get used to thinking wrong then. Do you really think GM is going to stand idly by when Ford puts a 400hp Mustang on the market??? And you still failed to respond to the tuning potential factor. What's so special about Ford's 5.0 that'll make a whole 400hp??? That's 80hp per liter. The 3.6 DI V6 in the CTS makes 300hp. The 2.0 Ecotec in the Solstice GXP makes 260hp. Since when is making similar power numbers to someone else but w/ a larger engine something American car fans bitch about??? Because if you look across the pond, things get REAL ugly REAL quick.....

LOL yeah because the Ram, Durango, Avalanche, Silverado, Escalade are selling SOOO well.
That must explain why Chevy has Red Tag employee pricing on ALL it's vehicles, huh? Thats a sign of strong sales! Or the fact that the flag ship Camaro has been delayed, and delayed again. Closing factories is another sign of good things!

You do know Ford has a large market in South America and Europe right? No I guess you wouldn't know that. Yeah, I bet you think the GT500, Super Snake, Ford GT, Lightning, Roush, Saleen, Steeda, etc are all 'mediocre' huh? Go ask GM and Dodge to get their acts together.

Bottom line is that Ford hit the wall before GM or Chrysler, so they've had a bit more time to rebound and start working their way back up. GM and Chrysler are just now really hitting that same wall. Either way, I think Ford is making the right moves with its lineup right now....the next few years look alot more promising than they did last year IMO. Economy willing........of course.

In case you were living under a rock for the $4 gas prices, NO trucks or SUV's have been selling great. The Ranger, Vic, etc, sold poorly because they were inferior vehicles, not because of outside circumstances. So stop twisting the facts around to benefit your own personal agenda here. I never said the GT500, GT, Lightning, etc were mediocre. Stop jumping to conclusions. You're grasping at straws. Even Blood understands what I'm saying. Realize your error and contribute to the topic at hand in a useful manner, or stay out of the conversation....

so... back to the 5.0 coyote, that thing sounds like it will be pretty sweet if it makes production, Ford definitely needs to up the power in the mustang with the new competitors like the camaro and challenger.
