I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a detuned Bored/Stroked 4.6 DOHC, that was used in the Cobra, makes FORD SENSE: ).
1.Anyhow a competitor will have to make at least 450 HP to match up with the new 5.0, HP per cubic inch and weight wise.
2.As far as the CHEVY AND DODGE comments of displacement, those are BIG BLOCKS, so the displacement WILL BE HIGHER.
3.Our 4.6 5.0 are SMALL BLOCKS so displacement will be lower.
4. Ford has already installed this New 5.0 in a SILVER Mustang and currently driving it.
Whatever the fact, 400 HP OUT OF 5.0 LITERS of displacement will totally be potent AND WAY MORE POWER THAN ANY OF US NEED ON THE STREETS.
I expect the price to go up to about 35 k $$

Are you daft or just trying to piss me off??? You started out by quoting one of my posts, so it was YOU who got in over your head. I wasn't badmouthing Ford. I was pointing out their running streak of only-acceptable vehicles and engines dominating their lineup. Being the fanboy you are, and ignorant to fact, which you obviously are as well, you blew the whole thing out of proportion. I gave props to the new Mustang. The Ford GT is one of my fave modern supercars. GT500's and Termies are sick as hell. Lightnings are even okay in my book. Stop picking out the things you have problems w/ in my posts and just deal w/ my opinion. Or ignore it. I personally don't care. Just put a stop to garbage you've been spewing about things you haven't a clue. Ford has a big market share in Sout America and Europe; really?!?!?! You left out Australia too, partner. Hell, some of their best products are Down Under. The Falcons are great cars. But wait, I'm a Ford hater, why would I know that??? Btw, GM has big market shares in Europe and South America too. And China. So what??? And guess what else- I hate Dodge. They can't make a good car besides the LX platform to save their damn lives. But the thread wasn't about Dodge. It was about Ford and their new 5.0. Which I already said is a good thing. Good for Ford. Good products from them breeds better competition all the way around.
Just to sum up for anyone who may question my intentions here (cough; mustangcat; cough)- 5.0 V8- thumbs up. Hopefully they make good use of their upcoming EcoBoost as well.....

Dodge isn't even capable of making vehicles worthy of being called decent. There was nothing to give a rest to. Did you not see my statement at the end of my last post???
Im just saying of course people on here are going to say good things about Ford. We all have mustangs and love them and most of us like ford. It is a prefernce, so don't act all surprised when we say we like Ford thats all... Don't mean to be an ass or anything..

and by the way......Toyota is down to 18 billion in cash. The so called "best car company in the world" isnt doing any better than detroit.
Im not sure about chrysler. But GM and Fords quality is just as good as toyota nowadays.
