Default Mustang GT vs 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Hey everyone,

Enjoy the Mustang vs Camaro discussion? It covered a few issues concerning cost and fuel economy -- important issues these days. How do those factors affect your next car choice?

In case you missed it, you can find the article here:

Well, now that gas is back down the $2 range thanks to a broken economy I haven't been taking into consideration fuel mileage for quite some time. Added, both the Mustang and Camaro are sports cars which are notorious for getting bad gas mileage...If people were concerned with gas mileage when looking at a car they'd turn to the econo-cars Focus or Cavalier. I think when it boils down all that matters with these cars are power and looks.
.....Which the Mustang obviously wins

Are you kidding me? Ford won't have anything to even compete with Chevy in 2010. We will all just have to wait for the new 5.0. Personally, I think the redesign of the Mustang looks horrible.

...no faith. C'mon people, this is FORD we're talkin' about. Ofcourse the camaro is going to outrun the Mustang. Chevy has to wait until they KNOW something will sell, ie The Mustang. It's been Ford's turn for the past five years, the Camaro BETTER be able to smoke the mustang. Just wait till Ford's turn again...

I don't know about you, but I don't have enough money to drop into a new stang once the 5.0 comes out. And it's a damn shame that the only way I could keep up with the 6 cylinder is full bolt ons or forced induction.

When the 2010 Camaros hit the streets, your car will be 9 years older than them. What do you expect?

Agreed. You have to pay to play.

I'm not gonna get into the whole 2010 Mustang vs 2010 Camaro, because we both know who's gonna own that battle performancewise. Doesn't mean Ford won't continue to sell Mustangs fairly well, which I'm sure they will. If the rumors of the 4V 5.0 GT turn out to be true for 2011, then we can start the debate. Right now, there isn't much to debate unless you want to talk about styling or interior ergonomics. JMO.

And FWIW, the ecoboost model.....should it see the light of day, might just make a bigger impact on this segment than either a 5.0 GT or the new SS.
