That thing has the same Power as the Mustang GT but with more torque that reaches Peak at 2300rpms. AND it weighs about 400pounds less. AND If it comes to the US it will likely sell for about $28,000. RIGHT in the middle of the Mustang Price Range.
All the times they list for it are estimates. Ford claims it will hit 163mph going flat out on the autobahn. Meanwhile we're drag limited(stock) at about 138mph.
The interior looks pretty nice, seems to have a lot of nice features. I would definitely own one. What do you guys think?

The speed of my GT was only one of the factors why I purchased my car that I got just about a month ago already knowing the Camaro SS would be out in another month or so. If speed was the only reason I was buying a car I probably would of held off for one of those. But its not. I like the look, the feel, the ride, and the speed for the price. If the above listed car did 0-60 in 3 seconds I still wouldnt be caught dead driving in that car. Just my personal opinion some people may like the look.
The comparison you are trying to make is a non-issue. They are in completly different segments that people don't generally crossover. Comparing the new Focus to a Mazdaspeed 3, GTI, Cobalt SS, etc makes sense, comparing it to a Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, etc doesn't. Besides when you are comparing similar horsepower numbers, but different power plants and different drivetrain configurations, ie fwd v. rwd you get vastly different results.
The car is rated at 300 HP, 325 TQ. I would think if it's 400 lbs lighter than the Mustang this would actually mean bottom 13's, especially going by the trap speed.
I owned a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 with roughly 315-320 HP/300 TQ at the wheels before my Mustang. The reason these cars don't get decent 1/4 mile times is due to traction!!!
My Mazdaspeed 3 could spin wheels all day long in 3rd gear... I raced a modded Termi and he were head to head going over 130 MPH... These cars pack a serious punch...but in the lower gears, there is no traction to be had. Plus from my personal experience with high horsepower DI engine, durability will be an issue. I had to get rid of my car because at 35K miles, the engine was worn and experiencing blow-by.
i dont know bout the OP but i got my car doing 149 from the factory and after tune ive had mine up to 160..so these do have some speed behind them

It's all traction and the laws of motion, pushing an object is much easier then pulling it.

I'll stick to my Mustang any day...
I had a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 before the Stang. The 6 speed in that car was one of the most difficult to get use to, 1 st gear was only good for up to 20mph. The stock tires sucked but with the all wheel drive in dry weather it hooked big time. The handling was incredible, probably the one of the best handling cars I ever drove for a 4 door sedan. Very stable at high speeds also.

Not to step on any toes, but the Speed6 and Speed 3 share the same engine, just tuned differently. Since these engines are DI (direct injection), there are a lot of issues modding them; fuel limits, ECU, parts, DI tuning, etc... List just keeps going... Once you reach 320 or so wheel horsepower, you are limited unless you start R&Ding your own parts...
