GT= Twin turbo 3.5 DI with 350 hp
BOSS/MACH I = 5.0 V8 with 400 HP
SHELBY = Twin turbo 5.0 V8 with 500 HP

Or:
V6 remains as is. 210 HP. There's a reason the mustang sells so well. People can afford the note AND insurance.
GT remains a V8. Purists will cry foul if the GT ever loses 2 cylinders, regardless of whether they are replaced with two turbos.
GT500 remains a ground pounding bigger V8. Again, purists.
Introduce the Ecoboost twin turbo V6 as an SVO. Fans of the original SVO will jizz in their pants.

I think they should make a new v8 cologne with the 100mm bore x 84 mm stroke. That should make it a 5.3 liter engine. But then keep it similar enough that the Xcharger can bolt right on it.

i love how everyone is bitching about not wanting to change the "muscle car" aspect of the mustang. who cares lol muscle cars are cars of the 60's and 70's not the year 2000

There's nothing wrong with introducing technology and efficiency to the mustang, but the whole point of the mustang is that it is a wild horse. The last thing that I would like to see is the wild horse change its formula and die because GM tries to outdo it on paper.

i not exactly a ford insidered, but i work for ford and what i think is gonna happen, esspecially with cost-cut restructuring is cut the engine line up.

the 365 (!!!) horsepower ecoboost that WILL be in the SHO (and we should see them soon) is going to find its way into the v6 mustangs, they'll cut out the 3.0L, so escapes, fusions and the like will all have the 3.5 with the 6 speed trans, the 4.6 3v will stay for f-150s and exploders, the 5.4 (or 5.0) will probably see a ecoboost setup and the 2.3 will be cut in favor of all 4-bangers getting a 2.0l.

btw the dealer message about the sho- bad *** car. awd with 365 horse? gonna be stomping stock stangs for sure.

I would like to see a N/A 3.5L 24 valve as the base V6 engine. I don't think the GT will become a TTv6, because the hallmark of the Mustang is an affordable V8, not a V8 in only premium priced models. That said, I'd LOVE to see a TT V6 in a Mustang in some fashion. Reviving the SVO is a great idea.
