The svt focus was sweet, but of course only in Europe.
I know what you mean though, Ford should have so more performance oriented cars other than the stang... I 2nd the fusion awd, tt idea. A smaller car would be sweet. Mated to a 6 speed.

I'm riding around on the Detroit Freeway this week, so hopefully I'll get to see one. Any idea if any dealerships up here have one on display?
Edit to add: I should have read further. Guess I'll have to look around back home.

Hey Patrick.... I like it and hope it sells so my bro can get back to work from being laid off a couple of weeks ago. I like the TT V6 power too and of course the direct inj .....seems a bit pricey but a great car with brand familiarity!

Yea, you buy the new SHO to have a nice comfortable highway cruiser that can get out of its own way. This is in no way meant to be a performance car. I'm amazed at how well put together it is though.....a far cry away from the 1990 Taurus I first learned how to drive in. It's good to see Ford making such strides in the quality department. If they can ever get their North American lineup even 80% as good as their European cars, they are gonna be doing some serious business in the years to come. The new Taurus, Fusion, and Mustang are definitely steps in the right direction.

As a previous SHO Taurus owner (dark green '95 ATX) I was pleased to see this car come out. I too think that they should have went with the fusion for a sportier look, plus it is quite a bit lighter.
A lot of enthusiasts have been begging for the return of this car for a while, so it was nice to see Ford give it to them. I hated to see mine go, but it was turned over to the wife after I got my Mustang and she didn't want to put the money into it. The older ones definitely suck up the money because all of the parts are discontinued and they are too rare to find in junk yards easily. I still miss the engine look sometimes. Best V-6 engine I've ever seen as far as looks go.

a ford rep brought the sho to my work last week, and normally within a month we have the new model they show in stock. thats how it happened with flex anyway. but i would def. consider this a performace vehicle, as much as an AMG cedes or the M5, maybe slower but still fun to toss around. good brakes, stiff suspension, paddle shifters. you have to sit in this thing to appreciate it. youd never know you were in a taurus trust me,

With all the emissions, fuel price and gas mileage concerns, a V6 TT seems more efficient and feasable than a V8 IMO. Ford V8s aren't necessarily known for exceptional V8 gas milage.. That being said, I haven't seen the numbers on the V6 TT yet, so I could be way off base. Being FI gives it more potential for cheap, too.. just look at the 335i/335xis.. For a 800$ chip or so, you can crank up the boost and get pretty high safe numbers.
