Angry CDC a NO-GO on the CS?? WTF

Well first let me introduce myself, my name is Jake coming out of Ft Bragg NC, about 2 month ago i was driving a Pontiac grand prix and i was sitting at a stoplight and i watched in slow-mo as a crackhead ran into the back of me from my rear view mirror and totaled my car.. well thank god, now i got a 08 Black GT /CS with the black and grey dress up on the inside. beautiful car, i love it and always have wanted this car

the only thing ive done is thrown hood pins on (and just that sets it off) but i have a laundry list of things i am planning on doing to it when i come back from Iraq, which i am shortly leaving for soon (again, thank god for stoploss). a year total and all the Arab money is dropping into it. Im trying to get a real retro look and i was looking at the CDC aggresive chin spoiler. but everywhere i look it says it is NOT compatable with the CS or the GT500 . that CANT be true. i mean i got alot of experience with ghetto rigging and fabricating stuff in the military to know that if there is a will there is a way. Any of you guys have any knowledge or advice on this one??

Thanks

First, I just wanna thank you for your service.. it means a lot to us and all of the service people out there are heroes, so thank you.

Unfortunately the CS bumper is different, so the only way I could think of is just to go for a GT bumper. However, I'm sure there is a way to make it work, but it might take buying the part to see.

Agreed. This has to do with the difference between the CS bumper and the standard GT bumper (which is what the CDC chin piece was made to fit). So unless you're willing to do some custom fab work, you may be forced into getting a standard GT spoiler. Probably wouldn't be all that hard........alot of GT owners would like to switch over to the CS bumper. You could offer to do a free swap with someone. Hope this helps.

Default Im stupid

Well i just now realised this, when the idea came to my head i was sitting in my driveway drinking ALOT, trying to wash away the sorrow of leaving my mustang and plotting mods

Today after i put up this post my buddy parked his GT next to mine i was was like..(i prob just made myself look like a dumbass to the world) . that is a TOTALLY diffrently built front end. BUT.. i am now toying with the idea of a splitter. i know alot of people have been having pain and heartaches over these things , anyone got any advice on em? the saleen one would cost me a testicle but the GT500 could prob be fabbed out.

i think those Agent break cooler port thingy majigees look really cool. id like to throw those down on the bottom . as far as the grill mesh, i dont know IF its only me but i kinda like the open look, unfortunatly the bent fins on the inside that have been smashed by monster dragonflies going 100+ up in there dont really agree. if i put something in there id want it to be black as possible so you couldent see it. know what i mean?

Jake

Yea, in my opinion the CS has the better looking frontend compared to a regular GT (and a much better rear facia as well). But as you've found out, there aren't alot of aftermarket accessories made to work with it.....but I guess that's because in some ways the CS bumper is almost considered an alternative/aftermarket piece in unto itself.
