It would be stupid for them to Drop in an Aluminum S/C'd 5.4L just to drop it after 1 year of production and swap it out for a TT5.0. Makes no sense. I could see maybe WAAAAY down the line.

There is no way that the '11 GT power plant is still up in the air 10 months before the car is scheduled to come out. Either it's going to a 5.0L or it's not at this point. Considering the regularity that 5.0L is being photoed under the hoods of Mustangs and F-150's, I'd say we will be getting the 5.0.

VERY true, how would the get the cars built otherwise??? About the f150's. Are the #'s the same on the 5.0 going in them as in the mustang?

I can see the GT500 motor changing after one year for a few reasons. First of all, it is changing because Ford is stopping production of all of its modular motors. Notice that anything with the modular based 5.4 or 4.6 is getting a new motor. Someone on this forum has posted they have a close family member working in the factory where the blocks are built, and production ceases entirely this November if my memory is correct.
Second, the reason (and this one is speculation to some degree) Ford is going with the Aluminum block is because whatever they ultimately want to go to is not ready yet. Couple that with some pre-existing engines from the Ford GT project laying around (these are slightly different internally than the iron block if I recall correctly), and you have a placeholder until the kinks on whatever the ultimate goal is. That aluminum block will not last long in my opinion. Some variant of the Coyote or the very shadily rumored Roadrunner (I have no idea what it is, just that Boomer over at Brad Barnett has alluded to it and its awesomeness in several ways) will replace the aluminum 5.4 when it is ready.

I say they keep a blower on the 5.0, it's a better idea for the street use that many GT500's are used for. The power band on PD blowers are way better for a factory set up, and street use. Still really good for racing too. If you dropping that much on a GT500, and spending the money to make it a drag car, selling the blower and buying a turbo set up for 6-7k more is not much if you really want it turbo'd.
