i know in 2012 there is rumors for a performance built 5.0 with 400 +hp for the gt's, but my question ive had for a long time is ....why havent they ever put a stock 5.4 motor in a maybe upgraded mustang model???? 4.6 gt and maybe make 5.4 gt boss or something?? im not sure what stock hp on 5.4's are, but it prob has a good 380 hp which would move pretty good in a mustang?

I'd think that's due to the intake and cam design for producing more low end torque. The consequence of that is lower peak HP; something trucks don't care about.
Put the GT's intake manifold and cams in it and I'd bet you'll see high 300's or at least mid 300's due to shifting the power band from low end torque to high end HP.

My friend has an F150 with the 5.4 and it has the Roush Supercharger on it. she is pretty quick...for a lifted truck but if she was lowered then oh boy she would be fast!
he is looking into cams for her soon...he is putting down around 500 Ftlbs and over 400 Hp

hmmm edge mach 1 mustang??? i didnt know they put the 5.4 in that ,any hp/torque numbers? unfortuantely i have a 2004 4.7 dodge ram that takes the 5.4 trucks all the time in street races but my 4.7 is highly modded so i figured that the 5.4 in the truck it made less hp...but not sure about the stang

Don't know what I was thinking when I mentioned mach 1's. Surprised no one caught that sooner
Mach 1's had an all aluminun 4.6 with the forged crank off the termi's. Again, not sure why I brought that up. But it all goes back to the original argument of cost.
