Default 4.6 5 barrel?

i went to ford today to get a new battery because i had a dead cell. so i decided to look around and ask questions. from what the sales rep said because i said i have to know about the the 5.0 rumor. he said that the engine is a 4.6 v8 with the 5 barrel. i kinda confuse on that part. anyone else heard of that?

It is a stroked 4.6L to make it 5.0L. It is a higher performance 4.6L replacement coming for 2011 I think. They make a 5.0 Cammer DOHC modular engine now available thru Ford Racing. No 5bbl.

Jesus, I don't know whats worse, the fact that the salesman told him that or the fact that he had to start a thread to clear things up.

Maybe he was trying to say the new motor is a bored out 4.6l? Which wouldn't be true anyway... Why would you ask a saleman technical details anyway? lol They rarely actually know anything.

This.

They know how to sell cars but know nothing about the technical aspects.

I'm wondering why he went to the dealer with an almost 10 year old car to replace a dead battery. Kind of expensive way to fix an easy problem.Hell my little sister can replace a battery.
