After yesterday’s announcement that the 2011 Ford Mustang GT would offer 412 horsepower, Autoweek has let loose more information on the new pony car. The Mustang GT’s new 5.0 will use an aluminum block with steel cylinder sleeves and while there isn’t much more information for now, Ford has stated that the 2011 GT will get 25 miles per gallon and make 390 lb-ft of torque.
Peak power is 6,500rpm and variable valve timing and 4 valves per cylinder help the 5.0 breathe on the 2011 GT will come with tuned exhaust headers to help achieve these impressive performance and economy numbers. The 2011 Ford Mustang GT is going to be offered with the choice of a 6R80 automatic transmission or the MT82 manual transmission.

damn it, this news is messing up my plans. I wanted to buy my wife a acadia denali in 2011. now I'll prolly buy ME a stang and her some old dodge caravan lol

Tuned headers....I guess that pretty much eliminates headers/pipes for mods, sounds like intake too. It's an awesome engine, but it is starting to sound like a heavily tuned engine that doesn't respond well to bolt ons...

No need for bolt-ons (at least for the headers).

That's a bad thing.
Overly tuned cars suck. Take the Nissan 370z. Yeah it makes 330hp off the showroom floor, but you have to go F.I./cams(major modifications) to see any real gains after that.
