True, and unfortunately, he was off-topic too.

But to try to get back on topic of what this thread is about, the 5.0 Coyote is already being supercharged for Australia. And one of the Ford guys mentioned a rumor that the supercharged Coyote could replace the 5.4L in future GT500 (or Cobra, if the GT500 name is bing replaced by Cobra again).

Considering the Coyote will one day have direct injection, and is already supercharged, just a tune and it will make more than just 500 crank HP, but maybe push towards 600 crank HP

I agree 100%!!! I just paid $16k more than my father paid for his GT back in 2002. Though the changes are great, I think $36k+ for a Gt is a little outrageous.

@peetiewonder

You sig pic made me lol.

On topic:

Best thing about the 2014 having 500hp would be getting a loaded 2013 5.0 for 10k off MSRP.

I agree about the price. These prices for these new mustangs are seriously OUT OF CONTROL. $36k for a hard top mustang gt? Really?? *rolls eyes* I paid $24k out the door for my 2001 Bullitt in May 2001. You mean to tell me that a non-special edition mustang gt premium has inflated more than $12k in less than 10 years?? $29k is my ceiling for a mustang. That's what I paid for my 2010 out the door and that's what I intend to pay for an '11 vert if/when I get one in the next year. The car simply just isn't worth anymore than that imo. And for a V6 even that price is ridiculous, even if it is convertible.

The average inflation rate is around 4 percent. 1.04^9= 1.42. So for the 9 years between when you bought your Bullitt and now, prices should be roughly 1.42 percent higher(completely theoretically of course).Multiplying 24k by 1.42 = 34,100 roughly again. When you consider how much higher performing and better cars the new ones are, its worth it. Plus its not like your gonna pay 36k for a 2011 gt anyway. Maybe if your quoting msrp, but you'd have to have about every option possible to get the car that high. So accounting for inflation, the prices aren't that different at all.

With rebates and incentives and some negotiating my new 09 gt premium with a glass roof ended up being 27k (I bought it after the 2010s came out). I would bet you could get a loaded 11 left over next year for around 29k pretty easily.

When I bought by 2010 about a month ago there were 2011's on the showroom floor and they still werent budging on the prices. I paid the $32k invoice and around $36k with tax and thats the most they could do. The prices have gotten outrageous
