Won't see the 6.2 saddled into the current chassis anytime soon. Doesn't actually fit between the shock towers. That might change in the future, but not before the 2014/15 redesign. Also shouldn't hold your breath for a TT 5.0........same problem as the 6.2: not enough room for the turbos under hood. Looks like we'll have to make do with the current supercharged 5.4 and, when that sun has set, a supercharged 5.0.
are you sure about that statement about it not fitting because i remember there being a mustang drag car that was an 05-09 body style that was using a 7L version of the 6.2L for testing purposes and it was running 9s NA. i believe roush had their hands in it and ford but i cant remember anymore details but i think it was yellow

It's something that one of the Ford engineers said in an article where they were discussing the new 6.2 going into the new SVT Raptor. I've simply assumed that they he knew what he was talking about. In retrospect (given your info), it's possible that the new motor can be made to fit without a number of standard factory accessories squeezed under the hood with it. I doubt a purpose built non-street legal drag car will have an AC compressor....or perhaps even things like a power steering pump/motor or alternator (depending on the setup). These are all things that a factory built street car will have to have, and the inclusion of such things might make it impossible for the new motor to fit. Just thinking out loud here...
that may be why. i wish i could remember where i had seen the pics of the car online so i could look at the motor pics again and see what kind of size restraints they had because it would make a good swap lol
It really is too bad we aren't seeing a Mustang application for it right now. I've heard some great things about the Boss/Hurricane motor in modified form. But I'm still quite satisfied with the Coyote, I think it was the right motor for the right car at the right time. Looking forward to seeing what the aftermarket can do with it.
