Default One year better than another?

Hey guys new to the site and Mustangs. Lookin to get into a 05-09 GT. Is there any one year thats better than the rest? Looking to supercharge it if that makes a difference. Thanks!

usually, the newest model would be the way to go. Pretty sure any kinks, that the S197 had, were hashed out by 2009. Not for sure tho. With that I would suggest the 2009..

That and you get the 45th Anniversary badges, not the plane "GT" on the fenders.

Thanks guys. I know that the 05 and 06 Z06s are a little more mod friendly and was curious if there was a certain year of GT that is best to mod but guess not.

Pretty sure the New Edge Gt's (99-04) are in the same boat as the 05-09 S197 stangs. Pretty much the same car with just a little cosmetic makeovers here and there..

No, there aren't any mechanical differences between the 05's, 06's, 07's, 08's, and 09's. Generally there may have been some non-drivetrain related TSB's that got addressed as the newer models rolled in, but nothing that would affect modability or performance. You'll make an 05 just as fast as an 09 with the same mods. Same motor......same gearboxes.

Hey Bro thxs for the ultimate compliment but its not a terminator ( I wish). Just did a little customizing to my likeing.. As you can see no emblems ( not going to fake the funk) Once I return from my deployment she will have just as much power as a Terminator and man that's going to be awesome!!!

I'm coming out of the euro crowd so I just thought it was debadged (happens a lot in with the euro guys). Still a bad car and thank you for serving our country. I have a lot of respect for the people of our military.

I'd say you really can't go wrong with any year (as far as 05-09). Theres a lot of people on here who have an 05-09 that has a ton of problem-free miles. Like 170k + I think might be the highest. An 09 model would have all the minor kinks worked out but nothing major. These cars are surprisingly reliable if maintained

Good luck
