New Mustang V6 performance package dubbed Mayhem

Ford recently ran a Facebook campaign to find a name for the new performance package of the Mustang V6, and after sifting through 3,000 entries, the automaker settled on Mayhem.

The lucky fan who submitted the winning name will get to drive a 305-hp 2012 Mustang Mayhem for free for three years. The package includes the following:

A 3.31 rear axle ratio for quicker off-the-line acceleration
Mustang GT front and rear stabilizer bars
Mustang GT suspension system
Shelby GT500 rear lower control arm
19-inch wheels shod in Pirelli tires
Mustang GT front and rear callipers and pads
A specific electronic stability control calibration with Sport mode

And that "Lucky Fan" was a member of our mustang club. The clubs name is Mayhem Mustangs. The man who won the car deserves it!

There was a pic of a white stang in the add but it did not post with the blurb on Auto123.
That is great news for your member, sounds exciting...a Mayhem for 3 yrs...WOW.
I'm glad they are doing more with the V6.........

They should have called it the colt 6, Mayhem sounds stupid, what does mayhem have to do with horses or mustang, maybe if it was a transformer.
I think they should have put the ecoboost 6 in the mustang. Then they should call it a Clydesdale colt 6.

Agree with all of this. I had a 96 V6 and finding aftermarket parts for it was the hardest thing. I did what I could, had true duals, custom headers... even supercharged it. I think I had every V6 aftermarket part out there at the time. People mistook it for a GT daily, even though I never rebadged it (why would anyone do such a thing). The V6 tuning folks now should thank me for paying up so much money to keep a market for it out there!

Ya I like the name "Colt".....maybe some other company owns the rights to the name...

Its the same as 2011's performance package, just a new name for the press...


Although with a name like 'mayhem', it should be packing a bit more of a punch then things that most performance minded people would already plan to replace(whee;s/tires, springs, gears,tune).
