I want the base GT 5.0 with manual trans, but to stay within budget(keep my wife happy) I may have to consider the V6. I have a decent down pmt but don't want to be disapointed with my first Mustang. Should I go for the V6 or save more for the 5.0.

Check 4th of July Ads. You could probably get a base GT for $25k or less.

nothing wrong with getting the V6 300 Hp like the 05-09 but 30 MPG and cheap its a great buy if you are worried about price on GT than save up some more before you buy this is definitly a choice only you can make though not here on the forums.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one...though I'd tell the wife 'tough luck' and get the GT.

I had to go with the V6 because of my budget as well. Our second car broke down and my wife has a long commute where as mine is only a couple miles, so she took over my old car and I got to buy a new one, but I was rushed into buying it. I didn't have the opportunity to save the extra cash for the GT. I like the six but I deffinitely would have been much happier with the GT. I've only had it for about a month and I am already waiting for the drivetrain warranty to expire and more FI options to open up...sooo in my opinion if you have the time to save some extra cash and you aren't rushed into the buy go for the GT, but i don't think you would be disappointed with the six either.

I've driven a 2011 V6 Manual and it just didnt' have that driveability and oomph that my stock 05' GT has.

I would definitely go with the GT just save some extra cash and you're good to go.

I think the old GT had a little more torque, I may be mistaken about that tho.
