I drove a new Highland Green '08 Bullit in '08. I fell in love with that car. It was simple... a sleeper to anyone who doesn't know Mustangs. That machine turned aluminum dash was beautiful. I will kick myself in the @$$ for the rest of my life for not buying that car.

Really tough but I voted '69 Boss just on the "want to own" factor.

If I had to base it purely off performance, potential and useability I'd have picked the '12+ Boss.

I'm shocked that the boss 429 isn't on this list.. However, the Terminator got my vote.

Good list but incomplete without the 68 1/2 Cobra Jet. The all time record holder in NHRA pure stock class. It whooped all the Hemi's, L88's and anything else in the day. VOTE

I voted Terminator, partly out of bias I suppose... But I think that it was a big game changer. Everyone (non Ford fans) ridiculed it for being a supercharged production vehicle at the time. All the "yeah but they had to supercharge it to beat car X" stuff... Hell, I was driving a 98 LS1 Trans Am at the time and was probably one of em... But Ford and SVT just proved to be ahead of the curve...

My second place would be the 2012 Boss 302. I love what they've done with an N/A engine in that thing... I haven't gotten to drive one, but it just seems like a sweet beast...

'69 Boss 302 is the apex of the mustang styling, in my opinion. My S197 is probably the closest I'll ever get to owning a car that remotely looks similar.

The best mustang edition of all time is the three sitting in my garage. Because they are mine.

1996 3.8L V6
2000 3.8L V6

I'd have to say the 2014 GT500 as far as modern era. The '65 GT350 is legendary though.... recently saw the last one built for the '66 year model run in all it's unrestored glory. It was pulled from you guessed it, a barn. Not sure if a restoration is in the works. It was present at a Car show in Amelia Island.
