Mustang Concept Sketches

Ford has already promised a futuristic design for the next Mustang, the only question is what it will actually look like. These designs aren't from Ford but are still pretty interesting and fun to think about. What do you guys want it to look like? Sleek and austere, like the german super saloons or sweeping and fluid, like Giugaro concept of yester-year? Discuss!

I won't believe anything until I see the thing built. As far as these pictures go, the silver side view doesn't look too bad. I was a huge fan of the retro look so anything else is going to take some getting use to.

Whoa..I don't know what to think about this, looks like the normal newer gen front end with a futuristic rear..I agree with Wpipes though, we'll see when they actually build the prototype

WTH am I going to do to that thing? How dare they make a mustang i Can't do anything to because it looks so awesome!!

The drawings here look nothing like what Ford higher ups are saying so step it up.

That red one is IT!
Where do I order?

:D

Me too. I think that red one marks a territory of it's own without any retro hangovers and will totally turn heads. (PS: I'm not a fan of red. It's just a knock-out form).

Get rid of the huge wheels and I'm sold. I would really like to see this car where a set of 18's with low profile tires is THE MAX wheel height offered. 17's or 16's standard. The "Big wheels are cool" thing is over played and performance tires are already expensive. 18" wheels as the max with low profile sidewalls.

I like the silver one from the sides and the rear with that exception. The front needs work to look less charger like and more Mustang like. I don't know, could be interesting though. 5.0 in a 3300 lb car sounds hawt. Of course a 5.0 in a 3000lb car sounds hawter :D

i have ALWAYS hated the giguaro concept. the silver side-on profile looks too much like a camaro, but the way the rear roof line meets the body is nice.

New Mustang meets old style !

We had a little trouble with accepting the melted look of the current Mustang so we tore one up and redesigned and refabracated the body in all sheetmetal to reflect on the classic style in blending them together, here at Auto Kraft in Lincoln, Neb. We had it on display at SEMA lots of people liked it! You can see it all over the internet under REVERSION MUSTANG look for it to hit 5.0 Magazine this spring.

hi everyone, I'm new to the forums; but I am definitely a Mustang fan and enthusiast. and I gotta say, I love the silver design concept. As for the red one, it looks too much like a classic Shelby GT500 Racer styled coupe crossed with a Mustang. The lines are all wrong for it....

Personally, I would rather see these http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...pa2profile.jpg http://i605.photobucket.com/albums/t...opsandhood.jpg become reality than the red one in the center

Whiskey11, let's git rid of them new fangled cell phones while we're at it, and who needs a TV hangin on the wall my old Philco still works fine, and bring back the original 5.0. Really! wheels too big? I had 18's 12 years ago. 1969 there were five engines available in a Mustang, and four were V8s. Time marches on.

I'm sorry but I don't want 19" standard wheels with optional donk wheels. The transition to larger and larger diameter wheels has added weight to an already heavy factory suspension reducing performance and ride quality all for looks. This has nothing to do with cell phones or flat screen TV's. This has to do with the fact that companies are forcing larger and larger wheels on their customers at THEIR cost (see new Camaro SS). Have you seen the cost of a decent set of 20" performance tires? 18's are plenty expensive enough and 20's are getting insane. 18"s clear Big Brake Kits with 14" rotors and 6 piston calipers. Why go bigger, especially if they decrease performance and increase the cost of competition. The last thing the Mustang needs is more weight anywhere on it.

And last I checked the Mustang was billed as the affordable performance platform. Are we sure we want $1400 sets of performance tires "as standard" and deal with the horrible ride or do we want to add in $1000 sets of tires with $1200 set of rims to save in the long run as mandatory? I don't think so and I hope Ford NEVER thinks so.

Give me a 3200-3300 lb Mustang with 420 HP, Double Wishbone front and rear suspension with some 18's or 17's and watch the car destroy others on a road course. More so than they currently do.
