Upgrade to GT, Prices
I am about to upgrade to a V8 Mustang and need to know prices for
07-09 GT's. I bought an 09 V6 for $17,500 and it was a good deal at
28,323 miles. Can anyone give me a range of price to expect for a GT
with 50,000-65,000 miles?

Thanks for the replys, it can be stock. My dealer is looking for one for me now. I can wait
until January if needed, I'll have more down payment then anyway. I want an auto tranny,
and that's about it, 3.73:1 gear would be nice.

'05 and '06 GT's in decent shape can be had for low to mid teens. I shudder when I see folks paying much more than that. Not only dealers, but private individuals often rape buyers.
For comparison, I bought a used '06 V6 Pony Package in '09. It had 9600 miles and was in cherry condition. He was asking $15.5k and I paid $13.5k out the Ford dealers door.

I could've picked up an 05 with 75k miles on it a few years ago for 14-15k from the dealership at one point but it wasn't the color I wanted and it had a few mods (CAI, tune, a couple under the hood appearance mods). Still I look back and that probably isn't a real bad deal. But you're going to find that if you want to keep the same MPG's you get on the V6 right now you'll want to not be a lead foot. I'm currently getting 20.8mpg but it is because I figured out how to drive a performance car with a manual rather than just driving like I usually would with a stick (I have a VW bug which I just pretty much floor it everywhere and it gets about 25mpg combined so I'm used to not thinking about the throttle at all.. before that, I had a different engine getting me close to 30mpg without driving conservatively at all but these are economy cars I'm comparing the Mustang to of course and yes it is the original bug not the "new beetle" which is actually a golf with a different shell)
I was warned about buying a used performance car also because you don't know how the previous owner(s) drove it. The car I currently have hasn't been abused at all and it runs great. Next time I buy a car it will probably be preowned with 10k-20k miles on it. The car I currently have is only my 2nd brand new car that I have owned and after purchasing the v6 initially I'd have to say that it really isn't worth the trouble to buy new depending on what type of car you are getting. Come to think of it, any Ford with an automatic I don't care what it is you're probably better off test driving some used ones before figuring out what you want because I've been on test drives with my parents in Fords and pretty much you have to be selective about what you are getting and check into things a lot which unfortunately I didn't do.
