I knew they were doing that back when I bought mine. One of the reasons I bought it. Ford needs to bring back the Boss 429 in a few years so I can get one of them too.

Dont know how the value of the car will be in a few years but hopefully it will be like the old bosses, that way I can be the guy at the car show gloating .

But I guess it's just going to be the basic models plus the snake for that 2-3 year interim?
It's only a one year interim until the 2015s come out, for some reason though I don't think the turbo 4 will be marketed as SVO.

In a few years they won't be putting motors that big in these cars, they are getting smaller already. I'm glad they did away with it and I hope they never bring back again...for obvious reasons.

They just went from having a 4.6 for many years to a 5.0. How do you figure they are getting smaller??

I know what you mean though. Efficiency is a donating factor in todays car production and this is where smaller engines come into play. But that doesnt mean we are loosing are precious V8s. Look at dodge and chevy, the put some much bigger V8s in their cars just fine.

I have been fortunate enough to drive both generation Boss 302's when they were new! (my sig will give you a hint as to how old I am). While you never want to see the end of a great car's model run, I agree with Ford's plan to keep these cars special.

BTW, in the late '70's we thought we saw the end to high-powered V8 cars like the Mustang GT, but the last few years have been unbeleivable!

I agree with PDonket. It makes sense. Who knows, Ford may come out with another Special Edition to complement the Boss. It's good to stir the pot once in awhile.

4.6 to 5.0 is small, 5.0 to 7.0 (which is what a 429 is) will simply not happen.

It's a great thing that it's being discontinued, like others have mentioned. Makes the car that much more special just like it's supposed to be. I would have loved to see a Mach 1 too, but I think the 05-09 models were the ones for a Mach 1 revival, just my opinion. But that's not to say that a 10+ Mach 1 wouldn't have been bad ***!

Good, it is why I convinced my father to buy the 2012 Boss 302 over the 2012 GT500. First car he has ever owned in 30+ years of driving and he is wondering why he waited so long to get a car lol.

I think it makes sense. Sucks seeing an awsome car go but it will keep the Boss name exclusive
