Ugh, that's horrible. I knew someone that got into a similar type accident. Why you would allow your kids to drive a car like this is beyond me. Should start with a beat up jalopy like we all did!

Whether you like it or not, as Thai said, it all comes down to responsibility and maturity. My first car was a mustang too and I never so much as got pulled over in it. All it takes a little self control and even a sporty car would be fine as a first car.
