Here's a blast from the past: MotorWeek's original review of the 1988 Saleen Mustang and the ASC McLaren Mustang. I'm a fan of the ASC cars, but I really like Saleen Fox-bodies, so it was a treat to see one put through its paces back when it ruled the roost. You'll have to watch the entire flick, but here are some golden excerpts: "Steve Saleen says the massive whale-tail rear wing is necessary to keep the rear end steady..." and "Check out those MASSIVE 16-inch wheels." My, how times have changed.

I owned a 1989 Saleen, I believe it was #413

It was a good car but it wasn't a great car. And while I enjoyed the **** out of it at the time, it pales in comparison to even a stock V6 performance package of today.
