I'm wondering how come no newer model mustangs are based off of the 2012 boss 302? They have nearly same power, nearly same weight, same price (except 2017 of course has a lot better interior), and nearly same mpg. Yet the boss 302 was a lot faster. Why was this not continued??

2017 Mustang GT Premium (fully loaded)

- 435 hp

- 3750 lbs

- $45k

- 1/4 mile: 12.9

- mpg: 19

2012 Mustang Boss 302 (fully loaded)

- 444 hp

- 3650 lbs

- $45k

- 1/4 mile: 12.1

- mpg: 20
