Wixom roda was a very old plant, dates from the Model T.
Ford had the plan to build the new Mustangs at Flat Rock at least 2 years ago.
Dearborn main is now a Ford F-150 plant. All the tooling etc replacer with new stuff in mid 2004.
They are not about to shut down the new F-150 plant, sales are too good.......

the Wixom plant, the birthplace of the mustang in dearborn is closing.

the last mustang rolled off the lines monday morning while Mustang Sally was being played throughout the entire plant. a cherry red 2004 mustang GT convertible.

now the mustangs will be built at Flat Rock plant. 30 miles south of detroit.
I sure wonder what price that very last '04 'vert's gonna bring... [sm=smiley23.gif]"C"

It's a good thing they're closing an old plant and moving to a higher tech newer equiptment plant. Think about it, that means Mustangs might be built better and more solid. Who cares about the old plant? If Ford's still rocking out mustangs thats all that matters.
